2005 Syrah - Dry Creek Valley
Tasting Notes
Hello. Heady and bold, this masculine Syrah is a class act. Bright
blue and red fruits burst forth from the nose of sage brush,
and roasted espresso. Dense and chewy with hints of toffee,
cocoa and wild game await. Well balanced and complex,
this is liquid velvet! Decanting will only benefit this
youngster. Drink now – 2017.
Winemaker’s Notes
Harvested the 20th of October, this wine is 100% Dry Creek
Valley Syrah. Prior to fermentation, five days were spent
in cold soak. The Syrah was barreled in 33% French, 33%
Hungarian and 33 % American Oak. To better showcase
the fruit, only 25% new Oak was used. After eleven months
of aging, bottling took place on September 5th, 2006.
