Tasting Notes

From one of the most highly sought after producers in the Dry Creek Valley, the Maple Vineyard Zinfandel is truly decadent. Inky purple and beautifully dense, this is a wine to covet! Full bodied and voluptuous. Aromas of incense, scented allspice and dark fruits explode from the glass. On the palate flavors of mocha and raspberry mingle with caramel, smoke and sweet licorice. The finish is long and exotic. Hedonistic, this is a Zinfandel with no equal. Drink 2008 – 2018.

Winemaker’s Notes

At the end of September, the Maple Vineyard was ready for harvest. Hands off was the approach to this amazing wine. A quick 24 hours of cold soaking led straight to the barrels. 20% new wood was selected from a program of 30% French Oak, 30% Hungarian Oak and 40% American Oak. Ten months went by before this wine was bottled in mid July.
